Re: Mountain Power HOUSE - TUNE DAY !! ( May 30th )
I got the dyno electronics back yesterday from repair after the lightning strike.. I verified the numbers with the Boxster and Beth's bug, so it's all good to go and is ready for the tune day!
Re: Mountain Power HOUSE - TUNE DAY !! ( May 30th )
Glad to hear the good news on the equipment.
Looks like Turbo and Nut will be there 7 - ish and can get started first. ( morning runs )
55 said he will be heading up by mid morning to help and lend a hand.
Thang is open for the day and so is Major ( I will be there mid morning 9-10 )
( mid day to late afternoon runs )
Hopefully everyone can pitch in, while also letting Jake show us the magic.
Jake has asked we bring lunch if needed and what ever else may be needed for the day.
I have some spare jets hopefully between everone we can find ones that work best.
1. Bring jets and other parts you feel you may need.
2. Bring gas ( Turbo bring whatever you use JP4 , Diesel or whatever the mix of day is )
3. Bring food and snack
4. Bring Jake's fee
We are some days out if someone see's that weve overlooked something.

Re: Mountain Power HOUSE - TUNE DAY !! ( May 30th )
Cool, the logistics look good to me. We'll get Turbo on the rollers first so we can get him home first.
If anyone has Kadron carbs or anything other than DRLA Dells or IDF Webers/ HPMX EMPIs make sure you bring your own jets. I have every size of Weber/ Dell jets in the dyno room and we can tune with mind and then pull them when we are done, then you can order replacements when you get home in the proper sizes.
If anyone wants to change velocity stacks or venturis, just bring them and the same goes with any other parts you want to compare. All I ask is that you think and prep ahead, if you want to try something new on the rollers, test it first to make sure it works and can be swapped quickly on the rollers.. If anything takes more than 10 minutes to swap your car will be pushed off the rollers, we'll roll someone else on and you can come back on the rollers once the changes are made for another session.
Here is a big one:
Make sure we can strap your car down easily.. That makes things go way faster and thats what we'll need if we want to get this many cars dialed in.. Hopefully it'll all run smoothly and no one will scatter parts or break anything.. If that happens we may be able to leave a car strapped down and do all its runs without having to pull it off the dyno..
BTW- Check all your fuel and oil lines, the last thing we need is a leaky fuel line starting a fire or an oil line blowing off causing a fire or getting my deck oiled down! MAKE SURE fuel lines are no where near heaterboxes and exhaust, this isn't dyno day and we'll be getting engines and cars a lot hotter than we do at allspeed, so double check everything..
Show up with a FULL tank of fuel, we'll probably burn it all just tuning...

Re: Mountain Power HOUSE - TUNE DAY !! ( May 30th )
Some tanks are bigger than others... I burned 1/2 tank in Beth's vert just optimizing the 45's last night..
Under boost you'll suck down a lot of fuel... What do you burn?? I buy 110 Sunoco for 7 bucks a gallon down the road from my house by the Atlanta Dragway.
we burn 30 gallons of it in a weekend with the 914, yeah it gets expensive...

I run C16 under high boost, but I can run 110 if i dont get the boost over 15 psi but that is no fun. I thought I may bring 5 gallons of C16 and try to make some big numbers and then put 110 in it and tune it so I can drive it more.

That'll probably be enough.. Your car is tuned pretty well from what I have seen..
The tune will change with different octane levels as the fuel viscosity is different as well as the specific gravity of the fuel.. We can find you a tune p for both with timing or jetting, that would be cool to do..
