1959 "Moe"
hood and decklid are finished... now i just need to replace the heater channels, rear clip, door post, front apron,spare tire bottom, both Qrts. and around 3 windows

I have Blasted the hood, decklid, tail light housings, and tag light, primered gray, white sealer then dusted with base...sanded to metal around the dents and bleached over night for that rust look ... buffed. to give the worn look.. then Cleared with a Flat clear... will take pics tomorrow

Man I dig it , hope you don't me copy-ing yours ,me and my nephew are doing a 66 sea blue I think .Can't really explain it but every time I'm at a show always drawn to these cars I just love the look! Now let me see you do buff work before clear never knew thats how you acheive the worn effect better. that hood is lookin just right good job dude!!

Thanks.. yeah i tried sanding.... But a wool pad and old cutting compound seems to give the look better... then Rubber seal has a nice Flat clear...

If you want a little surface rust on the bare metal spots , hit it with a little muratic acid .

yup or bleach... and you can wash it off eas yfor clearing.
Its alot of fun....Plus you know it's all new... This dash matches the outside this way.

The darker mohair might be cool , not to show spots its like a saddle color.. the light in my 59 was hard to keep clean .
