Best tranny?

Post  VOLKSWAGENUT on Sun 01 Jun 2008, 8:12 pm

Hey my buddy Chuck with the orange square , was gonna put a new trans in his . Is there a place down there you guys would recommend? He has a 2 liter in it.

I got mine from transwerks. 3;88 , etc. I like it for mine seems like a good tranny so far.

Any info would help . names and phone numbers. Cool he is trying to get it back toether for the july show.

Search Samba for transaxles, Georgia. Tony Fulbright in Taccoa, GA builds them. Herrell's has a guy in Texas that builds all of his now.

i would say avoid TRANSFORM, but they went out of business. i'm gonna have to bring my bug back out there and let someone look at mine. i can't remember if they put 3.88 or 4.12 gear with 3rd,4th overdrive. that and when i put oil in it it leaked out from everywhere. still got to work on that.
