Need Oval Back Seat Frames
I need rear seat frames for my 55 sedan...
I have a 61 set,but the back does not look like it's going to bolt in the same as earlier ones.
I could not find clear info on Samba as to whether the 61 set should go in.
If anyone has experience with this, please post it.

Great...I will check it out, along with the steering column shaft parts you may have. Mine has a late end welded on it...crappily.
I have a IR 1/2 impact, supposed to be the most powerful 1/2,but I don't have the compressor size to try.
Also,a 3/8 Blue Point ratchet for everyday stuff, and a Mac 3/8 drill you can try out.I am already bringing the Snap-On XR1700 and FAR7200 ratchets.
Just in... http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P65=&tool=storage&item_ID=71459&group_ID=18012&store=snapon-store&dir=cataloghttp://www.thepartsbin.com/cartools/air_power_tools-impact_wrench-134-d.html

When I put the back in,it does not even touch the bumper stops.Too narrow. The Oval ones must be wider up top.I know where a rusty 57 is...I may have to look at it's back seat. It's still there, but they don't want to part it out.

Re: Need Oval Back Seat Frames
Does Herrells stock oval windshields? Or does anyone have a chipped/foggy one? The local shop here in Montgomery has done a lot of them, but I don't have a pattern.
Someone told me some of the repros, like So Cal has, don't fit.

OK Charles, whenever you see them, ask how I can get one made and I'll send $$ to you.
The shipping is more than the cost of the part from online places. The glass shop here will do one for about $50 if you have the old glass or pattern.

Yeah, bring some of the giant ones that make fat lines so the glass place can see them gooder...
Independant Glass in Montgomery said if I bring a pattern,or glass, they will save it for others in need.
The guy makes them for chopped cars with flat glass too.I heard about them from the Street Rod club here.

I looked at a '57 this week. The back seat is very wide compared to the '61 seat I have.
